Who are we?
Vicar: Rev Jo Haine
Curate: Rev Dan Harland
Church Warden: Carole Loveridge
Church Secretary: Nigel Uden
We warmly welcome you.
We are a church based just outside Weymouth in Dorset.
Liberating not stuffy.
At St Mary’s Chickerell we try to be liberating not stuffy.
We believe Church should be uplifting and provide a meeting place where God’s presence can be encountered in the Bible, the Eucharist and through our relationships with one another.
We make concerted efforts to learn from mistakes, doing better next time.
What do we think church is?
We think Church should be a place where God heals us, a meeting where we tackle and then leave behind the dificulties that life throws up at us.
We remember that we are human beings and not God, and as consequence we do not always succeed in living out his commandments.
Why are we Christians?
Our goal is to live life with God at the centre of our lives.
What we mean by this is that we try to live out the commandments about love that Jesus gave us.
Be part of our imperfect family.
We try to live our faith as best as we can, following the commandments Jesus gave us: Love God with all your heart, with all your soul and love your neighbour as yourself.
This means that we choose to live a life which places high value on God and other people.
We remember that we are human beings and not God, and as consequence we do not always succeed in living out these commandments. We make concerted efforts to learn from mistakes, doing better next time.
How does being a Christian affect us?
Besides regular worship we also spend time with one another and doing loads of other things.
